What you’ll do
The IoT Division at SAS is a vertically integrated line of business charged with innovation: innovation in products and solutions and innovation around market engagement.
We encompass R&D, Product Strategy, Industry Advisory and Product Marketing.
We are looking for a curious and innovative candidate who believes that AI can make a real difference for IoT applications.
Within the IoT Division, we are developing a brand new paradigm in delivering IoT applications.
As an intern, you might:
Develop IoT application proof of concept using SAS Application framework and AI capabilities, including Generative AI
Document best practices for model inferencing, including guidelines for fast, efficient deployment
Investigate model optimization techniques, including quantization, pruning, and model compression, to improve performance and reduce latency.
Develop packaging and operational capabilities for real-life implementations of IoT Applications
Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Industry advisory teams
Required Qualifications
Students currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development or other related technical field
Experience with Python and knowledge of multithreading and object-oriented programming
An understanding of AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Onnx
Knowledge of Machine Learning fundamentals
Familiarity with containers and conatainer orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.
You’re a college student enrolled in an accredited program,
not graduating prior to December 2025 .
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Understanding of model optimization techniques
DevOps understanding

Cary HQ/Hybrid or Fully Remote
Internship dates: May 20, 2025 – August 8, 2025.
We can be flexible on start date if your university is on a quarter system.
Internships last 12 weeks in total length.
