The Role
We’re looking for a Vice President of Product who will be the driving force behind our product vision, strategy, and execution, ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our customers while aligning with Zippy’s business goals. This role is all about understanding market trends, user needs, and business objectives to push the boundaries of product innovation and fuel our growth.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in scaling product organizations and leading the charge in transforming companies into product-led powerhouses. You’ll need to be adept at guiding teams through end-to-end product training and enablement, with a knack for defining clear product lanes. Building strong partnerships with our business teams, especially around go-to-market strategies and revenue generation, will be key to your success. While a background in finance, consumer lending, or mortgage technology would be a bonus, what’s most important is your ability to lead and inspire our scrappy, talented team across product and design. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional user experiences and driving Zippy’s growth to new heights.
What You’ll Do
Shape Our Vision and Drive Innovation:
Define and clearly communicate a product vision that aligns with Zippy's vision, mission, and growth goals.Develop a comprehensive product roadmap that integrates both technology and services, setting us apart in the market.Lead our efforts to innovate and help transform us into a product-led organization, driving continuous improvement.
Lead, Develop, and Empower Our Team:
Build, mentor, and lead a talented and diverse team of product managers, designers, and UX/UI professionals.Foster a collaborative environment where creativity, accountability, and high performance thrive.Implement robust training programs to equip your team with the skills and knowledge they need to excel, while empowering them to work autonomously and stay aligned with our overall strategy.
Manage Growth and Resources:
Guide the scaling of our product organization to handle growth and increasing complexity.Oversee the product development budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and coordinating with Engineering.Identify and address risks associated with product development and service delivery to ensure smooth operations.
Integrate and Innovate Across Functions:
Enhance our tech-enabled services, ensuring seamless integration of technology with service delivery.Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and sales teams to ensure our products meet market needs and deliver exceptional experiences.Align all product initiatives with our broader company strategy for cohesive execution.
Design with the Customer in Mind:
Dive deep into understanding customer needs and pain points to guide product design and development.Ensure that our products are user-friendly, reliable, and designed to exceed customer expectations.
Make Data-Driven Decisions and Optimize Impact:
Leverage data and analytics to make informed product decisions and improve service delivery.Track and evaluate key metrics to measure the success of product initiatives, including ROI and resource allocation.Regularly review outcomes to optimize strategies and maximize the impact of our investments.
Analyze the Market:
Conduct thorough market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new service offerings and expansion.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our products at the forefront of innovation.
Build Partnerships and Drive Product Marketing:
Develop and maintain solid partnerships with business teams, focusing on revenue generation and effective go-to-market strategies.Partner with marketing teams to craft compelling go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches.Help shape the product’s messaging and positioning to resonate with both internal and external audiences.
Create Synergy with Technology and Services:
Ensure our technology and service offerings are integrated to deliver a cohesive and innovative product suite.Drive the development of tech-enabled services that differentiate us in the market
Communicate with Stakeholders:
Provide regular updates to the executive team and other stakeholders on productstrategy, progress, and outcomes.Act as the main liaison for product-related matters, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.
Manage Financials:
Work with the finance team to forecast product revenue, efficiency gains, and overall profitability.
What You’ll Need
Experience: Over 10 years in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the consumer lending or mortgage tech industry. Experience in B2C or B2B2C is important. If your current background is mainly B2B, we’d love to see some prior consumer experience.Tech and Finance Background: Familiar with tech-enabled services and have a background in SAAS or similar areas, with a focus on enablement. You should also have a strong financial background, including experience in lending and managing a P&L. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is ideal, and an MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting is a plus.Product Growth and Scale: You’ve built products at scale, growing them to thousands or even millions of customers. Whether you’ve helped an early-stage company expand or navigated the complexities of a large-scale product, you’ve done it all. Experience in delivering complex products from end-to-end and collaborating across functions to get the wider organization excited is key. US fintech/lendtech experience is a plus, but not required.Leadership and Team Building: You’ve led and grown high-performing teams of 3-10 product managers or similar, excelling at building strong, diverse teams and raising quality in every interaction. You’re hands-on and a strong individual contributor, perhaps with a background as an analyst, engineer, or designer. You thrive as a player-coach, adeptly switching between detailed execution and leading a broader team.Vision and Execution: You’re a visionary who can build consensus around a multi-year plan and get the team to dream big. You use data and analytics to drive product decisions, focusing on financial metrics and ROI. Comfortable analyzing case studies and making informed, data-driven choices across various project scales, you drive meaningful results.Continuous Learning and Adaptability: You’re always learning and willing to roll up your sleeves to make your product team successful. Whether it’s interviewing customers, designing UIs, writing code, or modeling growth, you’re not afraid to dive into new skills to unblock your team. Your exceptional clarity of thinking and ability to simplify complex problems bring structure to ambiguity.Transformation and Collaboration: You’re not just adaptable—you’re a chameleon, effortlessly transitioning between technical discussions with engineers and strategic conversations with business executives.
