A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to join its litigation team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience handling a broad range of general litigation matters, including securities, construction, commercial, employment, tort, and transportation litigation. The role requires strong writing, communication, and courtroom skills, with experience in depositions and trial preparation. The Senior Trial Attorney will be expected to manage complex cases while collaborating with colleagues across the firm.Duties:Handle a variety of litigation matters, including securities litigation, construction disputes, commercial litigation, employment-related cases, tort claims, and transportation issues.Manage all phases of litigation, from pre-trial preparation through trial and post-trial motions.Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.Conduct depositions and represent clients in court hearings and trials.Provide legal guidance and strategic advice to clients on litigation matters.Collaborate with other attorneys in the firm to develop case strategies and ensure the best possible outcomes.Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders regarding case developments and strategy.Maintain accurate records of case progress and deadlines.Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on general litigation matters.Proven experience handling securities, construction, commercial, employment, tort, and transportation litigation.Strong courtroom experience, including depositions, hearings, and trials.Exceptional writing, communication, and legal research skills.Ability to manage complex litigation cases independently while working collaboratively with other team members.Strong client service and relationship-building skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership in the Illinois State Bar or ability to obtain admission.Skills:Expertise in litigation, including securities, construction, commercial, employment, tort, and transportation matters.Excellent legal writing and drafting skills.Strong deposition and trial experience.Effective communication and client management skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
