Mainframe Developer
Location: Grand Rapids, MI/REMOTEDuration: 2-3 months

Modernize & Innovate:Work on optimizing and modernizing our critical legacy mainframe systems, driving innovation and improving system performance to meet the needs of the future.
Collaborate:Partner with a talented team of developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.Problem-Solve: Dive into complex technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and provide robust, sustainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.Maintain & Improve: Ensure the ongoing stability and performance of our core systems, leveraging your deep understanding of COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and other mainframe technologies.
Bridge Old and New:Assist with integrating mainframe systems with modern technologies like cloud services and data analytics platforms that we are looking to leverage.Mentor: Share your wealth of knowledge with junior team members, providing guidance and training to help them grow.
Proven Expertise:Strong background in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM/DB2, and online applications with at least 5+ years of hands-on development experienceModern Mindset: While you're an expert in legacy systems, you're also excited by the challenge of integrating them into modern infrastructure and eager to learn about new technologies.
Problem Solver:You thrive in situations that require creative solutions and have a natural ability to think critically under pressure.
Team Player:You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and are a strong communicator who can translate technical jargon into clear, actionable plans.

Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of hands-on mainframe applications experience working with COBOL, JCL, VSAMMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience with DB2 and CICS requiredMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience in development project life cycle activities and maintenance projects.Experience working on web based applicationsProven experience creating and deploying stored procedures in DB2 (required)In-depth Systems Analysis experience required (required)Excellent analytical and problem solving skills (required)Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
Extra Credit:Experience in Retail domain.Experience and desire to work in a multi-region delivery environment.
