Purpose and Scope
The essential function of the position within the organization is to supervise special projects of the Maintenance Department. The position is responsible for supervising assigned maintenance staff, coordinating maintenance schedules and procedures, assisting with routine and emergency maintenance and repairs as needed, ensuring prompt and professional customer service, and performing related work as assigned. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.Essential Job Functions
1.Supervises staff, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and terminating or recommending termination.2.Inspects work in progress and completed by both staff and contractors to ensures compliance with District policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety. 3.Organizes, schedules and ensures prompt and efficient response to work requests; provides timely reports to supervisor on the status of projects; report work progress and problems to supervisor.4.Coordinates assigned activities with those of other District staff and outside agencies as appropriate.5.Receive and respond to inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility; respond to after-hours requests for service.6.Maintains records of work requests, work completed, hours and materials used, and other necessary information.7.Performs general administrative/clerical work as necessary, including entering and retrieving computer data, maintaining work records, copying and filing documents, preparing reports.8.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.Minimum Qualifications
Requires 2 years of college plus an additional 2 years related experience, for a total education/experience of 4 years. Requires a valid driver's license.
