As we continue to expand our business, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Applications Engineer.Position Summary:The Sr. Application Engineer is an organized, self-motivated, and energetic individual to support the Quest Commercial/Industrial/Ag sales and product development team. This person must possess a strong drive to succeed, be proactive in supporting customers and sales staff, have strong technical knowledge of dehumidification, and present a professional demeanor to our prospective customers. The Sr. Application Engineer will often be the first point to contact for customers contacting Therma-Stor to enquire about Quest products and solutions.Compensation:Base Salary Range:

$90,000 - $124,000Affordable health insurance options starting day 1, no waiting period!Company-subsidized Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) available.Traditional and/or Roth 401(k) with competitive company match.Generous PTO and Sick Pay policies.Additional work perks and many more benefits!Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Sr. Application Engineer performs the following:Effectively interact with engineers, architects, contractors, manufacturer reps and end-users as a subject matter expert on our products and their application.

Assist A/E and contractors calculate latent load of problem structures and integrate Quest dehumidification products into the HVAC system.Assist in developing design solutions for customers using our comprehensive catalog of products.Assist Service department in evaluation of customer issues where the root problem may be the way the unit was implemented.

Provide technical support to the sales organization (internal and external)

Be able to translate technical terminology into layman’s terms.Assist with training of customer facing co-workers, trade allies, and others in the use and application of our products through webinars and other technology transfer methods.Develop technical proposals for customers or assist sales staff in the process.Maintain detailed records of customer interactions in CRM.Interact with the application engineering departments at other Madison Industry companies when collaborating on projects.

Provide market and customer feedback to Product Management to drive product roadmap.

Keep a current and up-to-date knowledge of industry and consumer trends; develop and maintain a strong partnership with sales team and distribution channel partners.Look for changes in regulation/codes/standards/, installation methods or other trends that would affect the design and sale of our equipment.Provide Voice-Of-Customer feedback to product development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams at Therma-Stor.

Represent Therma-Stor/Quest as technical expert.

Represent Therma-Stor/Quest at standard, code and regulatory meetings/committees.Comment on proposed standards/regulations that affect Therma-Stor/Quest’s products and customers.Attend industry associations such as ASHRAE and others.

Develop technical information for marketing information and white papers.Attend trade shows, conferences, and similar industry events.Other duties as necessaryEducational Requirements and Years of Experience:A degree in Engineering, or equivalent discipline.5+ years’ experience designing or consulting in HVAC Industry, as an HVAC manufacturer’s rep or in consumer durables &/or HVAC products industry.Experience working with HVAC systems for manufacturing facilities, storage warehouses, office buildings and Controlled Environment Horticulture is desirable.Experience working with customers on technical applications.Experience working with cross-functional teams both internal and external to the business.Capable of managing multiple open projects &/or quotations at one time.Administrative, Technological and Behavioral Skills:Computer literate – Understanding of the operation of a personal computer and peripheral equipment. High level of experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access) and other analytical tools.Ability to Travel – Domestic and international travel required on as needed basis (up to 40%).Good communication skills – Able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Able to deal tactfully with subordinates, peers and, particularly, with Senior Management. Able to create and maintain cooperative team-building relationships. Able to deliver coaching and corrective feedback to direct reports.
