Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons
has an opening for a
Software Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in
Northridge, CA.
As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
Generate software documentation.
Develop, implement, and maintain existing software for both embedded devices/systems as well as desktop test software based on requirements.
Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities.
Software requirements verification and validation.
Use test equipment to troubleshoot software and hardware.
The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA.
Basic Qualifications for a Software Engineer level (T02):
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field with 2 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or Master’s with 0 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
Self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a multi-discipline team environment.
Professional experience developing software in C/C++ and desktop applications in C, C++, C#, or Java.
Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance are required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; United States citizenship is a prerequisite.
Experience operating oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies, signal generator, and spectrum analyzers.
Must have an active security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with software version control tools such as Git.
Extensive experience with Windows Desktop applications in C#.
Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
Experience using Atlassian Tool Suite: JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software and identify root cause issues.
Ability to set up test equipment to support software development.
Experience working with hardware programmers such as JTAG.
Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, serial communication, and MIL-STANDARD 1553 protocol.
Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
Salary Range:
$87,200 - $130,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
