DCS is seeking a Department Manager for our digital engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity with significant visibility and strong potential for upward mobility. You will lead and expand our business portfolio in this area performing world class digital engineering, software development and analysis for the Department of Defense and National Security market.This position provides you with a dynamic work environment within which you will be responsible for a high technology team of battlespace model developers, agile software developers, simulation experts, data analysts and other subject matter experts who have established a strong customer base. You and your team will apply innovative digital engineering techniques to our customers' synthetic environment needs with a focus on modeling and simulation framework advancement.Essential Job Functions:Provide technical leadership and development for your staff.Oversee successful contract execution.Maintain and grow excellent customer relationships.Recognize and capitalize on market opportunities.Understand competitive positioning and control business costs.Foster a progressive, productive, collaborative, and technically exciting work environment.Manage a diverse team of 40+ technical staff and associated business.Grow current contracts, lead business captures and write proposals.Perform Project/Program Management activities and status reporting activities to customers.Coordinate recruitment of technical staff and manage staffing plans.Conduct mentoring, supervision, and periodic evaluation of subordinates.Conduct periodic reporting activities to articulate department status to senior management.Required Skills:Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a relevant technical discipline and at least 10 years’ experience in a technical role on digital engineering programs with 6 years’ experience managing technical personnel.Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain at least a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.Experience with Systems and Systems-of-Systems engineering, engagement, mission, or campaign level M&S environments.Technical expertise in advanced modeling and simulation frameworks specifically AFSIM but not limited to, other desired framework experience includes NGTS, STORM, JSE, ITASE, or TMAP methodology.A proven track record of managing successful software development projects and excellent leadership skills.Proven experience in leading and delivering large-scale DoD systems engineering projects.Proven program management experience with government contracts.Ability to travel, as needed.Desired Skills:Experience performing Model Based Systems Engineering in a government consulting environment with in-depth understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, MBSE, and best practices.Ability to formulate and execute strategies to grow new business.Advanced degree in a relevant academic field (PhD preferred).Current active Secret or higher-level clearance.Experience with the Air Force Research Labs, Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation and United States Space Force.Knowledge of and experience in the USAF Operational Imperatives and a firm understanding of the Air Force’s Reoptimizing For Great Power Competition.
