We are seeking a

Respiratory Therapist (PRN),

internally referred to as our Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at Saint John Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare. The Respiratory Therapist can be referred to as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II) but someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population; in the absence of a supervisor, they may be designated as the Lead RCP, overseeing the department during their shift. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.Shift's Available:

VariedEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):will provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easilyconduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patientsset up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independentlymay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provide airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitate patients in critical situationsassess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as neededensure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License requiredcurrent BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain currentRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required2 years experience as an RCP preferredACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain currentNRP certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain currentPALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain currentassociate degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferredhigh school diploma or equivalent is required#LI-MP1Connect With Us!
