The Data Scientist will work with senior data scientists to develop and implement innovative data-driven solutions that enable us to make informed business decisions. This role will have a strong foundation in statistical and machine learning techniques and a desire to learn and grow in the field of data science.Assist in designing and implementing statistical models and machine learning algorithms that can be used to solve complex business problems.Analyze and interpret large, complex data sets using statistical and machine learning techniques.Develop data-driven insights that can be used to guide business decisions.Stay up to date with latest developments in data science and machine learning techniques.Identify opportunities for process improvement throughout the company.Assure compliance with regulatory requirements governing privacy, data collection and reporting.Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining a standard for Data Analytics methodology.Collaborate with business areas to develop analytics projects and champion the efforts to move the company towards a data-driven environment.Prepare summaries/presentations to communicate findings from analysis to management and business areas in a way that is appropriately delivered.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or Data Science preferred.Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Science preferred.Certified Analytics Professional certificate preferred. Requirement can be waived at the discretion of management if candidate has post-graduate degree in applicable subject area or work experience.FLMI Designation preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience. Experience in data analytics focusing on predictive and/or descriptive analytics preferred.Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure Services, Word and PowerPoint.Experience working with large, complex data sets and databases.Insurance and Farm Bureau knowledge preferred.The ability to perform the essential functions of the job as exhibited through one's growth in job knowledge and professional development.The ability to provide and receive feedback and develop through training and coaching.The ability to establish measurable outcomes and create processes for monitoring progress towards established goals.The ability to make well-informed, effective and timely decisions, even when data is limited or solutions produce unpleasant consequences; perceive the impact and implications of decisions.The ability to function effectively in the workplace as exhibited through one's integrity, courage to act and communication skills.The ability to work with others effectively as exhibited through one's respect for people and commitment to teamwork.The ability to meet organizational goals and customer expectations as exhibited through one's accountability for results, commitment to service and initiative.
