GE Aerospace is a newly independent company looking to grow its litigation team. The group handles diverse disputes including commercial matters, product liability, intellectual property, and other regulatory matters.We’re looking for an experienced litigator to lead matters in US and international courts as well as arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums. This lawyer will also serve as an advisor to the company in monitoring regulatory changes and driving change to mitigate risk.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

We’re seeking an experienced lawyer specializing in litigation of company matters and regulatory proceedings. This will include managing all phases of case strategy and execution, including oversight of external law firms, vendors, and associated budgets. This person will operate as a functional expert in the company.The role influences policy and operating guidelines about important subjects to the company including GE Aerospace’s commitment to safety, quality, and integrity.The selected candidate will lead others to find creative solutions to address complex problems that may impact the organization and will require the ability to evaluate the quality of information received from relevant stakeholders.This role relies on the ability to leverage multiple internal and external resources to arrive at a decision. This leader will also need to communicate effectively and directly to Senior Leadership Team without oversight or guidance.Required Qualifications

JD degree from an accredited university.7+ years of legal practice with a focus on litigation.Member in good standing with a state bar.Desired Characteristics

Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to collaborate in a matrix organization with shared/overlapping responsibilities.Willingness and enthusiasm to adapt to change and drive improvements.Strong commitment to process and use of data to manage work.Focus on leveraging technology to solve problems and improve outcomes.Demonstrated ability to apply judgment and resolve problems.Significant experience in managing matters before US courts and/or international arbitration venues.Substantive knowledge of government contracts litigation and disputes a plus. Experience in the aerospace or defense industry a plus.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.Additional Information
