DIRECTOR, SPONSORSHIP SALES (VIRGINIA SPORTS PROPERTIES)On-SiteTHE RUNDOWNPlayfly Sports is looking for a Director, Sponsorship Sales to join our team. The Director, Sales will be responsible for generating incremental sponsorship revenue on behalf of University of Virginia to meet and exceed individual and team goals for Playfly. This role will work on-site with the Athletics Director/Senior Staff at University of Virginia athletics and Playfly Sports Properties senior level staff to pitch and close enterprise partnership agreements. Additionally, this role will lead and manage a team of sales & services roles at University of Virginia.WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISHAssist General Manager with the development and execution of a dynamic sales plan to meet and exceed individual & overall property sales goalsIdentify potential sponsors for Virginia Sports Properties through networking with University of Virginia stakeholders and business partners, researching local, regional and national companiesManage, coach and develop a team of account executivesWork with the General Manager to create sales inventory, revenue projections, and sponsorship strategy for University of Virginia athletics assetsDevelop sales presentations for new marketing partners by incorporating research, category dynamics, and an understanding of partner’s marketing goalsManage key objectives, create proposals and draft/negotiate contracts throughout the sales processDevelop key marketing objectives with clients via thorough needs assessment and a collaborative sales processEntertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game related settingsRepresent Virginia Sports Properties, University of Virginia, and Playfly Sports Properties in a professional mannerWork with the General Manager to research sports sponsorship industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditionsOther job-related duties as assignedWHAT YOU’LL BRING5 years of direct sales experience in the sports multi-media environment requiredSome experience in a management, lead or mentorship role preferredProven success in hitting individual sales goals on a regular basisFamiliarity with KORE or similar CRM systemExperience with integrated and “conceptual” salesAbility to generate and present ideas and concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects/clientsDemonstrated professional sales presentation skillsTRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be available for game days and evening athletic events and coaches showsMust be available to travel for client presentationsMust be able to work nights and weekends around sporting eventsWHAT WE DOPlayfly Sports is the full-service, leading sports marketing and media company that enables brands to engage with sports fans on a local, regional, and national level through scaled linear, digital, and experiential assets.
