Playfly Sports is looking for a General Manager to join our CIF Sports Properties team in Sacramento, CA.The General Manager will be responsible for generating incremental sponsorship revenue on behalf of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) to meet and exceed individual and team goals for Playfly. The person in this role will work with the CIF Executive Director, CIF Senior Staff, CIF Section Commissioners, and Playfly Sports Properties senior level staff to pitch and close enterprise partnership agreements. This role will also be responsible for leading and managing CIF Sports Property staff.WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISHPartner with CIF and CIF Sections to develop and execute a sales plan to meet and exceed revenue goals for PlayflyManage profit and loss & budget reports to maintain and exceed EBITDA budgetProspect, meet and close a significant number of new and renewal high level corporate sponsorshipsManage, coach and develop a team of sales & account support staff at CIF Sports PropertiesCreate standards and assist with the achievement of their individual goalsIdentify potential sponsors for CIF Sports Properties through networking with CIF stakeholders & business partners and researching local, regional & national companiesWork with Playfly Sports Properties leadership, the CIF, and CIF Sections to create sales inventory, revenue projections and overall sponsorship strategy for the CIF assetsDevelop sales presentations for new marketing partners by incorporating research, category dynamics and an understanding of partner’s marketing goalsCreate sales proposals and draft/negotiate contractsDevelop key marketing objectives with clients via thorough needs assessment and a collaborative sales processEntertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game related settingsPrepare end-of-year recaps for sponsorsRepresent CIF Sports Properties, California Interscholastic Federation, and Playfly Sports Properties in a professional mannerResearch sports sponsorship industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditionsOversee management of radio network (terrestrial, digital) and supervise the respective broadcast talentBuild strong understanding of all Playfly business units and offerings in order to leverage new business areas, leads, and categoriesOther job-related duties as assignedWHAT YOU’LL BRING6-8 years of direct sales experience in the sports multi-media environment required10 years of experience in a sales role preferredExperience managing a team of direct reportsProven ability in managing, meeting & exceeding budget & revenue goalsFamiliarity with KORE or similar CRM systemStrong experience and understanding of integrated and “conceptual” salesAbility to generate and present ideas and concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects/clientsOutstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated professional sales presentation skillsMust be driven and coachable to execute the Playfly Sports Properties revenue model and to understand the distinctive relationship with CIF AthleticsTRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be available for various State, Regional, and Section championshipsMust be available to travel for client presentationsMust be able to work nights and weekends around sporting eventsCOMPENSATIONThe base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
