The State of New Hampshire, State Treasury, Abandoned Property Division has a full-time vacancy for 43-4190 Misc Records Clerk-3.
Summary: Responsible, as directed by the claims /owner reunification coordinator, for the daily processing of various Abandoned Property transactions, primarily claims processing and general public email, telephone, and in person owner inquiries. Supervise and coordinate workload and provide support to subordinate Claims Processor II and activities associated with the processing of claims, including claims processing training and assistance to subordinate(s)/co-workers. Cooperate with other division staff to carry out the many functions of the office. Additional tasks as may be assigned by the Director.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's degree from a recognized college or technical institute with major study in business administration or accounting. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Three years' experience in forms or claims examination or similar audit and verification activities. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: None required.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the basic theories and principles of auditing. Skill to make simple mathematical computations with speed and accuracy. Ability to analyze and correct claims rejected from the computer system. Ability to identify problem areas in a standardized processing system and take corrective action. Ability to supervise other employees engaged in similar work. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other state agencies and employees. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.

Responsibilities:
Lead or participate in off-site claims outreach events assigned and scheduled by Claims/Owner Reunification Coordinator and work with the Coordinator to develop plans to implement emerging on-line platforms for owner identification and efficiency of electronic claims submission and approval.
Processes systems based abandoned property claims submitted by apparent owners, heirs or their authorized representatives and processes reimbursement requests submitted by holders. Documents and maintains complete and accurate record of transactions, claims evidence requests and claims approval steps within the unclaimed property operating system.
