The Purchasing Agent
is responsible for coordinating activities involved with the purchase of various products and services which includes aircraft parts, tooling, raw material, outside processes, and other special procurements as identified by management.
This is a temporary role, not to exceed 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate sources for a variety of productsPrepare RFQs to obtain competitive bids from approved sourcesEvaluate and negotiate supplier proposalsReview and evaluate supplier qualifications, lead time, and costProvide cost and lead time information provided by the supplier to managementPrepare purchase ordersEvaluate requirements and determine appropriate purchasing methods such as blanket agreements, etc.Develop strategic supplier relationships while serving as the primary liaison with suppliersMaintain related purchasing records such as items or services purchasedAddress supplier disputes and performance deficienciesMonitor and control supplier delivery performanceMonitor and control inventory levels and spend consistently with management's strategic planDiscuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, to determine the cause and take or recommend corrective actionProvide management with market intelligence as appropriate. Approve invoices for payment. Expedite delivery of goods to usersMaintain liaison with internal departments and or personnelProvide feedback regarding the progress of orders, including delays and reasons for the sameParticipate in improvement processes inside & external to the departmentEnsure proper specifications are listed on the Purchase/Repair OrdersPreparing part estimates and providing quotes to the customer service department
Qualifications:
Knowledge of industry suppliersAerospace industry knowledge preferredStrong negotiation/contracting, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to compile and present data in a format that facilitates information sharing and decision making
