The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of serving as a data scientist on complex technology implementation or data analytics projects. This role requires the ability to lead larger teams and mentor other scientists.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Apply pattern-recognition techniques to large structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets to automate and optimize data wrangling (extract, transform, clean, evaluate, normalize/standardize, and organize) from disparate sources.Demonstrate technical expertise with data models, data mining, data cleansing, and segmentation techniques.Develop databases using SQL to create complex queries involving joins, subqueries, aggregation, indices, common table expressions, and query optimization/plans.Utilize development experience focused on data manipulation and/or statistics, using applications such as Python, R, SAS, Tableau, and AWS.Exhibit proficiency in both small and big data environments, understanding the tradeoffs in scaling algorithms between differing environments.Conduct and facilitate analyses, issues identification, risk assessment, and decision-making processes, while educating and training others on these topics.Design, develop, and implement the best available models and solutions to agency challenges and requirements.Prepare data, implement data models, and develop data management tools, including databases, to support end-to-end solutions.Maintain working knowledge of federal grant-making policies, procedures, and administration.Exhibit detail-oriented and logical thinking, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.Stay updated with new business and technical concepts.Work with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong team leadership and risk management abilities.Requirements:Basic Qualifications:Seven (7) years of professional experience in Data Science, andMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, orTen (10) years of relevant experience in Data Science, andBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.Please note this position may require access to sensitive and/or confidential data; it is the responsibility of the employee to acknowledge and adhere to BE’s Ethics and applicable security policies addressing the acceptable use of information system resources.BruckEdwards is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
