How You’ll Contribute
The Human Resources (HR) team works to find, grow and retain talent and build the NGS community. HR is dedicated to designing and building people and total reward strategies that enhance employee culture and the employee experience at NGS. The HR department includes the Business Partners, HR Operations, Total Rewards & Recognition, and Talent Acquisition and Talent Development teams, and it leads the internship program for the organization.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Partner develops strategic partnerships with hiring managers across the organization to ensure effective recruitment by identifying highly qualified, diverse and extraordinary talent pools. The Talent Acquisition Partner leads the recruitment process and is responsible for full cycle recruiting, from sourcing a strong candidate pool, to stewarding candidates through a structured and inclusive interview process, to negotiating, to ensuring effective onboarding.
Your Impact
NOTE: This role is required to be located within DC-regional commutable distance and able to commute to the DC office approximately 2 days a week, on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities Include:
Sourcing & Recruiting (85%)
Contribute to the development of recruitment and sourcing strategies to attract top talent, with a focus on the upcoming opening of our Museum and attraction.
Help shape a recruitment brand and marketing strategy (internal and external) to ensure high visibility for potential candidates.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with hiring managers, serving as a trusted partner to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
Manage a structured and inclusive interview process, aligned with organizational policies and practices, and ensure high quality decisions throughout the process.
Provide consistent feedback and status reports to hiring managers and relevant stakeholders, revising strategy as needed.
Manage in-person recruiting and sourcing events, interviews, and onboarding for Campus & Experiences.
Manage negotiations with candidates, and communicate important employment information during the delivery of an offer of employment.
Expand recruiting strategy and tactics by assisting with the development and implementation of initiatives that advance NGS’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Guiding Principles.
Diversify our recruiting efforts through traditional and non-traditional resources such as networking events, social media outreach and career and university fairs.
Onboarding (15%)
Collaborate with hiring managers and internal stakeholders to provide training and support with the onboarding of team members.
What You’ll Bring
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
5+ years of progressively successful experience in Human Resources, preferably as a Recruiter or Talent Acquisition Partner.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communications, and proven hiring practices skills.
Strong client service orientation and ability to produce results in a high performing environment.
Experience managing the administration, process, progress and maintenance of the human resource recruiting function.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while following policy and procedure.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to successfully work within a highly collaborative team environment.
Ability and willingness to commute to the DC office approximately 2 days a week, on an as-needed basis to complete new hire I-9 verification and other necessary in-person recruiting and onboarding functions.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably Workday and LinkedIn Recruiter.
Proven experience recruiting in hospitality, attractions, or related industries.
Expertise in large-scale recruitment needs as well as strategic recruiting for leadership, management, and niche positions.
Supervision
No direct reports.

The National Geographic Society offers a competitive and holistic total rewards package. Our compensation structure and transparent pay philosophy are based on industry-specific market data for similar-sized nonprofit organizations.
The salary range for this position accounts for a wide range of factors including but not limited to organizational need; specific skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and more. At the National Geographic Society, individuals are typically hired at or near the starting point of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
The salary range for this position is $109,200 - $115,000.
