Work directly with the Head of Software, software engineering team, and product teams.Strategic Planning: Guide the team in designing and implementing data systems that adhere to modern high throughput architectures while keeping privacy as a top priority.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.Project Management: Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.Collaboration and Communication: Serve as the key point of contact between the data engineering team and other departments, translating technical concepts into business solutions.Data Quality Oversight: Ensure the team maintains high standards for data quality and consistency across all stages of the data lifecycle.Skills/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.5+ years of experience in leading teams that design and develop software for cloud systems or in a similar role.Strong leadership skills and experience managing a technical team.Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.Availability to work outside of standard business hours as needed to be able to collaborate with teams across multiple time zones.Ability to travel 10% if needed both domestically and internationally.Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of the data engineering lifecycle.Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data warehousing solutions.Strong ability to communicate complex technical and management information clearly and concisely.We will consider applicants requiring sponsorship for this opportunity.The approved base salary range for this position is $124,450 - $158,550. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 24.5% - 30% of base salary for the San Francisco Bay area. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $161,785 - $206,115 depending on location.
