Come join us as we build a best-in-class global multi-disciplinary team across artificial intelligence, machine learning, design, advanced software and hardware engineering, strategy, venture investments, sales, marketing, and partnerships.In your role as Sr. Software Engineer at Kohler Ventures you will:Work directly with the Head of Software, engineers, product managers, and key data security stakeholders to design and implement solutions that can scale with the business growth of Kohler Ventures.Build the forward-looking vision and lead the effort to ensure the entire development lifecycle takes a privacy-first approach and builds customer and regulatory trust in our product.Define and articulate a clear vision for privacy, and influence leaders across all systems to adopt a balanced view of product and privacy goals.Conduct technical reviews for new features and identify privacy concerns.Advocate for privacy decisions, designs, and discussions, facilitating the development and implementation of data protection requirements into our products, services, and operation of the business.Provide assurance that Kohler Ventures is adequately prepared to address privacy concerns in a highly regulated industry.Skills/RequirementsRequired Qualifications7+ years of professional software development experience.5+ years of experience in a privacy-related field - security engineering, data engineering, compliance engineering, etc.Secure system design and architecture experience.API descriptor specifications, such as Protocol Buffers, GraphQL, or OpenAPI.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in a CS/engineering or related technical discipline from a reputed academic institution. Master’s preferred.Experience with GDPR, California regulations (CCPA), and other global regulations regarding security and privacy.Implementation of architecture for security.Extensive knowledge and skills in data engineering and information security for cloud and IoT devices.Strong technical experience in some of the following areas: (1) Selection and integration of services in the AWS stack; (2) Kubernetes, ArgoCD (K8S controller); (3) Data streaming architectures and methodologies.Strong ability to communicate complex technical and management information clearly and concisely.Positive, can-do attitude with a high degree of ownership and self-motivation to drive change.Entrepreneurial experience in a high-growth technology-focused company or startup.Experience with software products in the health and wellness industry.Availability to work outside of regular business hours to collaborate with global teams and travel to South Korea 2-4 times a year.We will consider applicants requiring sponsorship for this opportunity.The approved base salary range for this position is $98-182K. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, education, and work location. This position is subject to a 16% Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) for the metro NYC area. This position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive.
