Flatiron Books, an imprint of Macmillan, is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to work on nonfiction titles spanning cookbooks, science, award-winning serious nonfiction, and memoir.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager will be a key team member overseeing all aspects of developing and executing creative title marketing campaigns along with key imprint initiatives to drive book discovery and sales. The ideal candidate will be strategic and creative and must possess strong project management and presentation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
What you'll do:
Develop and execute innovative marketing and advertising campaigns for assigned titles (8-10 a year) to generate awareness and book sales, including managing budget and overseeing strategy.Partner with and advise authors on leveraging their professional network and author channels (i.e., newsletter, social, contacts) to drive awareness and sales.Communicate and present marketing plans and updates to authors/agents, editors, sales, publicity, central teams, etc.Execute strategic online advertising campaigns to determine target audience. Work with ad vendors on bookings, write ad copy, create design briefs, and assess and analyze results and reporting.Oversee GoodReads advertising account relationship and submission of seasonal titles.Establish strategic brand partnerships to co-market titles campaigns; exhibit proven track record of conceptualizing, pitching and executing co-brand marketing campaigns.Attend and contribute to regular marketing, sales, title-specific meetings, and lead seasonal brainstorms.Project manage the launch of the imprint's first influencer program from conception to execution within marketing department.Oversee the imprint's email marketing program including subscriber growth, retention, content, design and reporting.Guide content strategy for imprint consumer newsletter and engagement and subscriber growth strategy.Maintain imprint catalogs and manage bookseller promotions and relationships, including Indie Next outreach.Monitor and report on sales and early reviewer buzz to identify seasonal marketing opportunities.Manage marketing intern, workload and assignments.Lend support to the Senior Director, Marketing to participate in refining overall marketing strategy, evaluate process and workflow to meet department and imprint goals.

Ideal education/experience:
6+ years marketing experience in trade book publishing or related field (previous title marketing experience strongly preferred).Familiarity with Google Business Suite, project management tools like Airtable and Basecamp, and marketing analytics tools.Some management experience (intern management).College degree or equivalent work experience.
This role will have an annual salary of $80,000 - $90,000.
