Software Engineer (Backend)

You'll focus on architecting and building new systems as well as improving existing ones for a platform that supports millions of users globally.What You'll Do:Own the end to end product lifecycle of identifying, designing, and building new featuresContribute and lead backend design discussions, stand up meetings, and code reviewsDevelop and own best practices for backend application development with a focus on high throughput, high reliability, and low latencyIdentify opportunities to improve existing practices and uphold Alchemy's high technical quality barWrite stable, high coverage test cases for features you shipDebug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stackCollaborate with other engineers, PMs, and designersWhat We're Looking For:5+ years of relevant industry experienceExperience designing, building, scaling and maintaining core backend software components (experience with API platforms a plus)Ability to solve complex design, scaling, latency, or performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency systemsExperience with AWS technologies is a plusExperience with production distributed systems, web applications, and microservice architectureExperience developing with Java (Micronauts), Typescript (Node), and/or Python (Django)Proven track record building highly available and highly scalable systemsSelf-starter attitude and the ability to execute new ideas with autonomyKnow how to find the right balance between perfection and shipping quicklyFounded a company or built side projects, a plusExperience in startups, a plusMore on The RoleAlchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off.The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $135,000 - $350,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
