This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, installation and alteration of the 25kVA overhead catenary system. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the RTD FRA Drug & Alcohol Policy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibiliti Prepares and implements maintenance programs and procedures. Monitors maintenance activities to ensure compliance with maintenance goals and takes necessary action to ensure that standards are attained. Conducts regular inspections of work areas in order to ensure clean and safe working conditions. Co-ordinates the update of maintenance methods and provides employee training. Responds to emergencies, accidents, snow storm support, special event support and any special assignments required from operations. All job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in electrical technology, closely related field of study or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in electro-mechanical or MOW maintenance of a rail transit system. FRA-regulated AC high voltage commuter railroad preferred. Experience as a Qualified Overhead High Voltage Maintainer preferred but Certified Signal/Power, Signal or Traction Power positions, from other rail modes, will be considered. Valid Colorado CDL driver's license or the ability to obtain within one year of hire. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Proficiency in general industrial electrical safety rules and regulations. Proficiency in electrical technology from microprocessors up to high voltage. Proficiency in Maintenance of Way (MOW) operations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to use sound judgment. Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details. OR: An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
