The Lead Integrated Security Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This role involves leading the design, installation, management, and capacity planning of the organization's technical security systems. Additionally, the Lead Administrator consults on capital projects that incorporate Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles. As a key member of the Integrated Security Systems team, this position plays a critical role in enhancing the effectiveness of the Transit Police Department and ensuring public safety. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential: Assists in coordinating the day-to-day operations of Integrated Security Systems for the Transit Police division under the direction of Manager Integrated Security, Technology.. Provides top-tier technical support, including responding to user inquiries, managing installations, monitoring systems, conducting tests, diagnosing issues, tracking resolutions, and performing routine maintenance. support and on-going maintenance as we connect them to our existin Develops and delivers technical specifications, offering expert guidance for the design, installation, and expansion of technological security projects. Oversees the maintenance of critical security systems and collaborates with the IT department on system integration. Serves as the Systems Administrator expert for essential security systems, including card access control software, video management software, body-worn cameras, and emergency phone and mobile security systems. Provides back-office support for field engineers, particularly with hardware and software issues, and serving as the subject matter expert for the badge access control system. Supports the Chief of Police and Emergency Management with designing and enhancing security infrastructure, including CCTV and card access systems, for both existing buildings and new constructions. Overseeing the design, technical procurement and project management for both new and existing integrated security projects. Provide contract management for the divisions security systems under the direction of Manager Integrated Security, Technology. Provides coaching and mentorship to Integrated Security Administrators under the direction of Manager Integrated Security, Technology. Analyzes department needs to prioritize and assign ServiceNow cases effectively. You may be required to be available after hours, including weekends and holidays, or on call as needed. All job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice with computer system coursework, or a related field preferred. Certifications in Lenel Onguard LCP level or higher, Milestone Xprotect video management, and CCTV camera manufacturers (Axis Communications, i-PRO, Hanwha Vision) preferred. Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or lead experience. At least six years of experience in analyzing, installing, administering, and troubleshooting critical technical security systems. Minimum of six years experience in evalu ting and managing contracts for complex security systems, including system specification development. At least six years of experience in installing and working with access control hardware such as readers, panels, interface boards, power supplies, and door hardware. Proficiency in networking technologies, including Cat5/Cat6, fiber optics, Ethernet, routing, and WiFi. Proficiency in data communications principles, including LAN/WAN and TCP/IP protocols. Knowledge of various video transmission techniques, including fiber optics, twisted pair technology, coaxial cable, course wave division multiplexing, wireless transmission, and IP-based methods. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to apply sound judgment in decision-making. Effective time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with attention to detail. Ability to research and evaluate technical information related to network hardware and software.
