As a Manager, HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for the delivery of HR strategy and services within Discovery Educations’ lines of business by providing ongoing Human Resources expertise and counsel to leadership across the United States. You will partner with other HR Business Partners and the HR team in all aspects of talent management, organizational planning and transformation, retention, employee relations, talent acquisition and compensation. Your role will be critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. The HRBP (Human Resources Business Partners) partners to support nationwide.In This Role You Will:Supports the development and delivery of ongoing people strategy within Discovery Education U.S. business units.Evaluate and assess the needs of the operations organization and provide guidance on organization design, talent assessments, workforce planning and succession planning.Promote the effective use of performance management, coaching, and professional development to improve and enhance team member success.Integrate the talent management process to include detailed analysis of potential talent gaps and development of career plans.Understand business goals and recommend approaches to effect continual improvements in business objectives and productivity within the designated lines of business and company.Be a trusted advisor and coach for the leaders in Discovery Educations’ organizations on a regular cadence.Analyze trends and metrics and collaborates with leadership within the organization to develop innovative approaches, informed people solutions, programs, and policies.Conduct exit interviews with employees leaving the company to gauge areas of success and opportunities for improvement.Work with managers to facilitate the positive and legal handling of complex employee relations and communication matters including support of performance improvement plan development and delivery as required; conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations as required.Identify and execute process improvement and efficiencies within the functions of the team HR to improve overall effectiveness of the HR strategy and model.Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements, commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures with HR field related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.Engage with Legal, Immigration, Payroll, Benefits, Learning and other partners on people related situations and escalations.Other duties, as assigned.Core Competencies for Success:Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret information to make business decisions and recommendations; formulate people strategies within context.Proven ability to build relationships with business leaders and influence change.Experience in coaching executives and managers.Strong understanding of employment Law and employee relations solutionsAbility to operate with ambiguity and influence without authority.Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.Credentials and Experience:Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent work experience.Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.Ability to travel, potentially 5% of the time.Legal right work in the United States.
