DATA ENGINEERThis is What You’ll Do:We are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join our growing biopharmaceutical company. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager of Development, this position is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting Data Delivery systems to meet the company’s needs.Additional responsibilities of the Sr. Data Engineer role include:Lead the design, development, and optimization of ETL workflows and data pipelines using SQL Server and stored procedures.Utilize stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, ensuring optimal performance.Architect and implement data solutions on Azure, leveraging Azure Data Lake and other services.Apply dimension modeling principles to create data models that support advanced analytics and reporting requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.Lead and set the direction for data engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering their growth and technical development.Implement DevOps practices for data engineering to streamline CI/CD pipelines.Utilize Python for data manipulation, automation, and custom data solutions.Ensure data quality and consistency through data integration, transformation, and cleansing.Participate in on-call rotation and assist with after-hours issues, as required.This is What It Takes:
Qualified candidates of this role must offer a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems science, or equivalent experience. You must offer excellent communication, technical and project management skills.Technical skills and experience required of the Sr. Data Engineer role include:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems science, or equivalent experience.Seven (7) + years of comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience extracting and transforming data within Business Intelligence environment.Seven (7) + years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Agent jobs, SSIS packages.Seven (7) + years of experience with SQL programming objects, including stored procedures, user-defined functions, and common table expressions.Seven (7) + years of experience with database tuning and optimization.Seven (7) + years of experience with ETL Development, and/or Python.Should have a good familiarity with designing SSIS ETL packages to move data from various sources preferably from Oracle and Flat files.Working knowledge of general business, quality/regulatory requirements, and /or manufacturing systems is preferred.Exposure and general working knowledge of Azure Data Factory preferred.Must demonstrate proficiency with technical, conceptual, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Must demonstrate ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to problems creatively.Do Satisfying Work.
