We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to oversee and manage our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of network administration, system security, and server management and will take a hands-on approach to developing and maintaining our systems. This role involves leading initiatives to improve our IT operations, managing complex infrastructure projects, and providing expert-level troubleshooting and support.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
Oversee and maintain all server environments, including configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning for optimal operation.
Network Management:
Manage and secure network architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, and LAN/WAN configurations, ensuring reliable connectivity and compliance with industry standards.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and monitor security measures, conduct regular audits, ensure compliance with security standards, and manage incident responses.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and maintain backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide high-level support for complex technical issues, assisting and mentoring junior team members in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
System Upgrades and Patching:
Schedule and implement necessary updates and patches to keep systems current, secure, and efficient.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures. Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance and improvements.
Qualifications:
Experience:
5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role, with a proven track record in managing enterprise-level systems.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration.
Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing.
Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Solid knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools (SIEM, firewalls, anti-virus software).
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or similar are preferred.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and convey complex technical information to various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation.
