Position Overview:
The
Capture Manager
will be responsible for leading the strategic capture efforts for new business opportunities, with a focus on positioning JIRACOR for success in competitive procurements. This role involves developing and executing capture strategies, managing capture teams, and ensuring that JIRACOR's value proposition aligns with customer needs. The Capture Manager will work closely with senior leadership and internal teams to define, assess, and win strategic opportunities, particularly in the defense and training sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture Strategy Development :
Lead the development of comprehensive capture plans for key business opportunities, identifying critical win themes, key stakeholders, and competitive positioning. Work with senior leadership and technical teams to identify JIRACOR's strengths and tailor solutions to meet customer requirements and expectations. Assess and analyze customer needs, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and industry trends to develop strategic capture strategies.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement :
Build and maintain relationships with key government and industry stakeholders, ensuring a strong understanding of customer needs and priorities. Lead customer discussions and briefings to communicate JIRACOR's capabilities, value propositions, and differentiators. Collaborate with business development and leadership teams to align capture strategies with JIRACOR's overall business objectives.
Team Coordination and Leadership :
Lead cross-functional capture teams consisting of technical experts, proposal managers, business development, and other relevant stakeholders. Develop and manage capture team schedules, ensuring tasks are assigned and resources are allocated efficiently. Guide and mentor team members throughout the capture process to ensure effective collaboration and strategic alignment.
Competitive Analysis and Proposal Input :
Conduct in-depth competitive analyses to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) related to specific opportunities. Contribute to the development of win strategies, including pricing strategy, technical approach, and risk management.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in capture management or related business development roles. Proven experience leading successful capture efforts for government contracts, especially in the defense sector. Strong understanding of government procurement processes and contracting requirements (FAR, DFARS, etc.). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, customers, and internal teams. Proven ability to lead teams, develop strategies, and deliver results under pressure. Experience with proposal development, including input into solution design and proposal content.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100:2016, or other quality management certifications. Prior experience in the Training and Simulation or Defense industries. PMP certification or similar industry-recognized certifications is a plus.
