The Vice President, Operations (Smokeless) oversees production operations ensuring manufacturing processes are in line with corporate objectives and run smoothly, efficiently, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the entire manufacturing operations, ensuring production meets the required deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints Develop and implement strategic manufacturing plans to align business strategy, productivity, and profitability within the manufacturing division Review analyses of cost, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives and provide regular updates to senior management on critical items Establish and maintain strict quality control measures, meeting industry and customer standards Create and maintain relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to supply chain, marketing, quality assurance, and research and development, to ensure cost-effective approaches in supply chain development and the integration of new developments and marketing campaigns into the manufacturing process Lead a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean principles for streamlined processes Lead the implementation of safety and environmental policies in compliance with government regulations and company standards to ensure a safe workplace Direct the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance operational efficiency Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements Develop and implement company/union negotiation strategies Develop future leaders by providing resources and support to develop skills and capabilities through unique development opportunities Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

Established knowledge of the tobacco industry to include the execution of tobacco contracts, raw tobacco processing, and tobacco storage 10+ years factory management experience serving in a senior leadership capacity 3+ years experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Results-oriented and team-oriented, with demonstrated ability to mobilize and manage people at all levels in both union and non-union environments Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management Strong leadership and strategic planning skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills Proven ability to manage budgets and achieve operational targets Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field
