The Plant Manager is the site head of all manufacturing operations. Plans and controls operations through a full functional staff organization, including personnel, manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality control and plant accounting. The Plant Manager is responsible for developing and creating a collaborative environment of continuous improvement.
As a Plant Manager you will:
Assure effective customer service and relations through timely delivery of quality product.Create a culture of safety and continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.Lead the Operations to create Best-In-Class operations through the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools with focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost improvements.Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports company's strategic initiatives. Implement and standardize good manufacturing practices and systems.Ensure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.Share best practices among sites within team as well as across the broader organization.Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume. Understand the overall financial health of the plant and how to positively impact profit, margins, etc.Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees in an engaged and participative working environment. Continue focus on employee development and succession planning within site.Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.Hire and develop the best. Raise the performance bar of the team and continually increase the bar with every hire and promotion. Recognize exceptional talent, and willingly move them throughout the organization. Develop leaders and take seriously the role of coaching others.Maintains plant property and equipment in good condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulation and to ensure effective and economical operation.Assures compliance of all plant operations with company policies, goals and initiative as well as Federal, State and Local regulations.
This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field from an accredited university; internal candidates with commensurate experienceAdvanced degree in business or engineering preferredProgressive experience in Operations Management with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a senior management rolePreferred manufacturing experience in the wire/cable industry, extrusion, steel industry or other related fieldExperience with implementing Lean and Six Sigma value added solutions is highly desirableUnderstands the people, processes, and technology of Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Distribution, & Logistics.Must be able to fully communicate in the English Language (read, write, speak). Secondary language of Spanish is a plus.Microsoft Office Suite of Tools with advance skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong experience with ERP systems, Financial acumen
Experience with analytical tools (PowerBi, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
Salary: $141,000 – 187,900/year**Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
