Job Description:The University at Albany seeks an Associate Director of Alumni Programs who will be responsible for a wide array of activities in support of the University's Alumni Association. The Associate Director is responsible for building substantial and lasting relationships with alumni through programs, services and events designed to inform and involve alumni in the life of the University, resulting in increased participation through volunteerism and philanthropy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Engage and advance UAlbany alumni, students and the University community by successfully executing programs and events that broaden opportunities to involve and cultivate a diverse alumni body.Grow support for University initiatives by building relationships with alumni, making it easy for them to get involved and positioning the Alumni Association as a valuable network.Assist and support affinity groups in planning reunions and/or special events with the goal of increased alumni participation, philanthropy and visibility for the Alumni Association.Identify affinity groups that have not been engaged and establish partnerships and opportunities for collaboration with these groups.Coordinate class milestone reunions and assist classes where there is interest in non-milestone reunions.Recruit Admissions Ambassadors to volunteer at college fairs, accepted student receptions and writing and calling programs.Train Admissions Ambassadors and recognize them for their efforts.Coordinate with Enrollment Management to establish new strategies to partner with volunteers and assist the admission teams with their initiatives specifically about increasing alumni participation in the admission process.Leverage legacy connections to help increase enrollment of legacy students.

Work with the Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Committee within the Alumni Association board of directors to eliminate any perceived marginalization of any of our demographics and continuously strive to increase the belonging of all groups at the University at Albany for students, faculty and alumni.Maintain and increase partnerships with the University's Schools and Colleges to support initiatives that increase alumni engagement and bring recognition to the Alumni Association.Coordinate and promote the scholarship program to various segments of the institution with the goal of creating a diverse pool of scholarship candidates.Promote the visibility of the Alumni Association as a University partner in the promotion of arts and culture within the UAlbany community by providing in partnership with a committee of volunteers, underwriting support for art-related initiatives on campus.Promote test prep course as a benefit and service for students and alumni and coordinate and manage all aspects of the test prep program including schedules, promotions, registration, materials, etc.Recruit admission ambassadors and career advisors before, during and after events.Encourage philanthropy before, during and after events to secure additional donors.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.A minimum of 3 years' experience in a college or university office in alumni relations, advancement, development, student affairs or a closely related field.Experience working with college alumni or students.Ability to work in a team environment.Experience with Microsoft Office and Zoom.Strong written and oral communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.Ability to work independently and to take initiative.Availability to travel and work nights and weekends.Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion and belonging relative to their role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.Knowledge of and involvement with the University at Albany.Demonstrated experience planning and leading special events.Experience with volunteer management.

Additional Information:Professional Rank and Salary Grade: SL-3, $65,000-$70,000
