Position Overview:The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the accounting functions for manufacturing operations. This role requires a deep understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee general ledger functions, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP.Manage the cost accounting function, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.Monitor and analyze production costs, labor, and material expenses to provide insights and recommendations for improving efficiency.Support budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with operations and management.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Assist with external audits and internal control reviews.Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and optimize accounting processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA or CMA designation preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).Advanced Excel skills; experience with data analysis and financial modeling.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
