The Compliance and Operations Lead will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing financial operations for the education programs team in the Department of Anesthesia. This position requires extensive knowledge of professional health education programs, including Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Graduate Medical Education (GME), the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), and Continuing Medical Education (CME), and regulations as they pertain to education program management and UCSF finance policies. The Compliance and Operations Lead will address complex issues related to the management of educational finances, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of reimbursements, payroll, and budgeting, thereby directly contributing to the financial health of the department. This position will work closely with the Director of Education and faculty leadership and participate in strategizing, planning, and implementing significant program improvements that are large in scope and with high complexity. The Compliance and Operations Lead will also provide direction on financial matters to the education team staff.Key Responsibilities:

Program Management: Serves as the point person for all Anesthesia trainees and students.Payroll Administration: Monitors and processes stipend and payroll for fellows and residents to ensure accurate and timely compensation.Compliance Oversight: Manages moonlighting compliance and payments, reconciles financial ledgers, and executes payroll expense transfers with high attention to detail.Financial Reporting: Independently performs complex financial analyses, prepares comprehensive reports, and contributes to strategic decision-making to support health education program improvements.Budget Coordination: Monitors and reconciles expenses within annual budgets. Provides reporting to the Director of Education to assist with the creation of annual budgets that align with departmental goals.Customer Service Excellence: Serves as a liaison for payroll and benefits issues, resolving problems efficiently to maintain continuous operational flow.Required Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Advanced knowledge of a health professions education program curriculum and requirements. Maintains a broad range of expertise in health professions education theory and industry best practices.Minimum 5 years of related experience.Advanced knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills to develop and implement complex processes and systems improving program quality and efficiency and reducing cost.Excellent communicator; includes verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Ability to handle sensitive personal information with appropriate discretion and judgment.Advanced interpersonal skills. Skills to work collaboratively coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization. Successful experience working with people with a wide range of backgrounds and skills. Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead a team, prioritize personal and team tasks and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule. Advanced personal organization skills and ability to apply to administration of the entire program including organizing critical files for compliance.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in related area preferred.In-depth knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program.Advanced knowledge of professional health education policies including GME, ABA, ACGME, LCME, CME rules and regulations.About UCSF
