The Director, Recognition, Donor Experience & Engagement is responsible for overseeing a comprehensive and robust recognition program. Reporting to the Senior Director, Recognition and Stewardship, Donor Experience & Engagement, this position works with the utmost professionalism to support the Division's senior management and Institute leadership. Accountable for executing all recognition projects within budget and on time, the Director will guide a team tasked with securing the best value from vendors and collaborating with Institute departments to formulate mutually beneficial policies and standards, focused on donors within the principal gifts, major gifts, annual gifts, planned gifts, and Jimmy Fund portfolios. Responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals.
The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive training process which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences throughout the first calendar year in the role.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Senior Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Vice Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, Assistant Vice Presidents, and Prospect Managers to ensure goals are accomplished through the execution of donor recognition projects. Create project plans and supervise their implementation for all donor recognition initiatives, both annual and long-term. Oversight of:
Data management and tracking for fiscal year and cumulative giving. Recognition plans for $1M+ donors, including implementation of all components. All current and future campaign- and capital project-related named space opportunities and donor signage projects. All donor recognition displays, including conceptualizing new displays and regular maintenance and updates for existing displays. Recognition gifts program. VIP tours for donors and prospects of Dana-Farber's campuses. The Patient Partner Program, including management and implementation of all policies and processes. Reporting and other analysis tools as necessary.
Research, recommend, and oversee the implementation of project management tools and software to aid in the successful planning and tracking of recognition programs and named space opportunities. Responsible for day-to-day management and consistent implementation of Division-wide policies and procedures related to recognition. With the Sr. Director, manage the recognition-related budget process for Donor Experience & Engagement; provide counsel to teams on their recognition budgets. Provide supervision, training, professional development, and growth opportunities for staff. Execute other new projects and perform additional management duties, as necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees a team of six; directly supervises one Associate Director, one Senior Assistant Director, and one Assistant. Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor's degree preferred. 8+ years relevant work experience, preferably in a Philanthropy setting. Direct report management experience required. Significant donor and volunteer experience strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Strong leadership skills. Excellent project management ability and experience planning and implementing complex projects, and working with vendors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication, and people management skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
