Instructor Developer 2 is responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of the Training Documentation for the OPC Program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Supports the development and submittal of Factory Training (FACT) for USCG approval.Supports the development and submittal of Familiarization Training (FAMT) for USCG approval.Satisfy all Training delivery as defined by the Contract.Collaborate with the Training Team to ensure training needs and Contract requirements are met.Support Human System Integration (HSI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) efforts.Conduct internal departmental training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.Interface with Training Management to ensure training needs are understood.Perform other duties as instructed.Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has informal supervisory responsibilities.Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the Training Manager.Job Requirements
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Required:
High School Education / GED Equivalent2+ years of experience in the marine industry AND Instructional Experience.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
USCG or USN Shipboard Training Team including:
Damage Control Training Team, Engineering Casualty Training Team, ASSIST Team, Standardization Team, Maintenance Augmentation Team, Naval Engineering Support UnitCombat Systems Training Team, Navy Advanced Electronic/Computer Field (AECF)
Multiple operational afloat toursMerchant experience in Deck or Engineering DepartmentSkills & Certifications:
Required:
Intermediate level Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.Must have fluent written and verbal communication skills to carry out and understand assignments.Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology (C5) or Mechanical/Marine Engineering (HM&E). Other related Degrees will be considered.Formal Military Instructor CredentialsApproved USCG Merchant Fleet Instructor and/or Assessor CredentialsRequired Traits:
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.Integrity, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and multitasking.Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group.Working Conditions
