Every day, consumers face overwhelming choices regarding products and services. We’re looking for a talented video producer to help us break through the algorithmic noise on social media by creating videos that entertain and inspire people to sign up for our unbiased and trustworthy ratings and reviews. You’ll report to the Associate Director, Social Media to script, shoot, and edit social videos for our fastest-growing social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. You’ll work closely with our video production team and CR subject matter experts, including our content creators, writers, lab technicians, and policy advocates. samples of your work (required). Under our CRFlex program, this is a hybrid position and is eligible for remote work up to 80%. The successful candidate must reside within 75 miles of Yonkers with the ability to travel to NYC as needed. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. How You’ll Make An Impact:

As a nonprofit, members fund CR’s mission to help consumers make informed choices and hold companies accountable. Reaching and engaging audiences where they are is critical to our success. In the process, you’ll help us diversify our membership portfolio to make the marketplace safer for all consumers. On a regular basis, you will: Generate short and long-form ideas for digital videos and broadcast news reports. Work closely with all CR stakeholders, including Editorial, Advocacy, Labs, Survey, & Communications, to produce, script, shoot, and edit video. Conceive and execute compelling visual storytelling techniques, including graphics and text, user-generated content, and other elements (self-created or AI-assisted). Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in Tech, Editorial, Survey, and Legal. Using production management software, coordinate with social and video team managers to meet all production and publication deadlines. About You:

You’ll Be Highly Rated If: You have the educational background and experience . You have earned a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

with

at least 3 years of experience in digital video or broadcast TV production. You have the proven strategic skills and creative storytelling techniques

to produce compelling short-form vertical videos for social media. You are self-directed.

You can conceive and execute assignments without daily supervision. This includes knowledge and experience with video shooting and scripting, coordinating with talent, using video editing software, social in-app editing tools, and video asset management. You can translate complex information into informative and entertaining video reports. You are proficient with editing and organizational tools —knowledge of Adobe Suite (including Premiere editing), Google Workplace, and Apple OS a must. You’ll Be One Of Our Top Picks If:

Pay & A Just WorkPlace

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $88K- $95K. This posted range is reflective of the NY/CA market. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
