The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:Joining our Center for Excellence in Neurology/Epilepsy, with care focusing on children and families with epilepsy and neurological diagnosis. This is a 20 hour per week position on a 31 bed pediatric neuroscience unit, providing acute to intermediate level of care, inclusive of a new state of the art 12 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.First line care of Neurology and Epilepsy patient population on the inpatient neuroscience unit, including assessment and medical history, physical exams, diagnosis, and family centered care of patients and their families. Consulting in an interdisciplinary manner on all assigned inpatients during daily rounds and managing assigned patients throughout the course of the day.Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives, as well as facilitation of patient/family and multidisciplinary team education.Assisting with care coordination, monitoring and counseling of patients, including telephone consultation.Assisting with the transition to home, continuity of care across the continuum, and family support and education.Contributing to the knowledge base of the profession and specialty programs through publications, presentations, and participation in the work of professional organizations.Working a schedule of two 10 hour day shifts Thursdays and Friday To qualify, you must have…Master’s in Nursing and Licensed PNP or FNP.2 years pediatric acute care RN or NP experience strongly preferred.1-3 years BCH NP experience strongly preferred.Previous EPIC experience strongly preferred**Sign-on bonus of $2,500.00 for part-time (20 hours) NP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)Boston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
