This Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:Consulting and collaborating with care providers and interdisciplinary team members during daily rounds. Managing assigned patients throughout the course of the day.Participating in development and implementation of patient’s plan of care with patient’s attending physician, consulting physicians and other members of the patient’s healthcare team.Obtaining relevant history and performing physical exams in the Emergency Department, during the inpatient stay, and clinic visits as indicated.Ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostic tests within the guideline of practice and in collaboration with the physician.Coordinating the care of multiple consults services for multi-system trauma patients.Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives, as well as facilitating patient/family and multidisciplinary team education.Active participation in department meetings and hospital committees.Contributing to the ongoing education and professional development of nurses, physicians and other healthcare providers in the area of pediatric trauma.Responding to outpatient calls from families as needed.Participating in the Trauma Performance Improvement process (PIPS).Working 25 hours/week day shifts.
