Anduril’s Legal Team seeks an experienced Spectrum Regulatory Counsel with a focus on Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations. Networking technology for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) involves radios, radars and other equipment with spectrum related requirements. This role includes understanding our products, customers and conops to inform short term needs as well as shape longer term strategic planning in this area across our test sites. This role will partner closely with our Test & Evaluation and Flight Operations Teams as well as Growth, Engineering, Manufacturing, and of course the broader Legal Team.
In this role, you will manage federal agency requirements, develop and implement supporting internal processes, and unify workstreams impacted by FCC and aviation regulations. You will lead regulatory approval processes for cutting edge UAS technology, safely bridging the gap between existing UAS aviation regulations and the technological innovation in UAS empowered by AI.

The Spectrum Regulatory Counsel will require creativity and resourcefulness to navigate the US Government’s broad set of compliance laws and regulations, with a singular focus on helping Anduril deploy its path-making technology into operational settings for the United States and its allies.WHAT YOU’LL DOBe a key member of Anduril’s dynamic Legal Team working closely with company stakeholders to understand and apply federal aviation rules and regulations.Provide daily support to test operations efforts; work cross-functionally to identify requirements and develop the best plan for timely and successful testing of our systems.Strengthen regulatory approval efforts by coordinating activities across Anduril’s test sites and in coordination with key internal stakeholders.Maintain spectrum-related regulatory files and track communication and status with government regulators.Drive efficient execution of cross-functional regulatory projects and support for product teams.Manage relationships with Government regulatory agencies. High-trust professional relationships with Government regulatory offices are critical to Anduril’s continued success, and you will be called upon to develop and foster these relationships throughout your tenure.Provide training and guidance to internal teams.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSJD and 5+ years of industry experience implementing FCC and other telecommunications agency rules and regulations.In-depth understanding of FCC regulatory requirements. For example, Special Temporary Authority (STA) application and renewal processes.Background and training in radar or radio engineering or other related field.Technical knowledge of unmanned and autonomous systems.Ability to develop and manage the preparation of technical documentation related to obtaining and managing these various authorizations for spectrum related requirements.Experience reviewing procedures and process documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.Experience implementing DOD policies and procedures and associated records requirements.Strong communication, technical writing skills and interpersonal skills.The judgment and initiative required to own multiple projects from end-to-end.Experience working directly with the FCC, Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal, state or local agencies.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) security clearances.Willing and able to work in Anduril’s CA office.Willing and able to travel at least 25% of time.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working in a flight research or flight test environment (civil or military).Experience working with the Department of Defense.Related engineering degree.Licensed to practice law in CA or DC.Active security clearance.US Salary Range$170,000

$255,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
