The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Company: NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc.Location: Amityville, NYReports to: President, CFO & COOCompany: NAPCO Security Technologies, a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of electronic and mechanical security systems for over 40 years, headquartered in Amityville, Long Island NY, seeks a Senior Vice President of Information Technology. This individual is a trusted member of the leadership team on all matters relating to the technology strategy, infrastructure and operations of NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. (‘NAPCO’). This position will provide strategic leadership and vision across the technical spectrum to bring innovative solutions and enable growth strategies. The role will lead the technology department, ensuring that the organization’s infrastructure, applications, and security are aligned with the business strategy, drives innovation to solve complex business challenges, and meets the expectations of internal stakeholders, partners, and constituents. The Senior Vice President of Information Technology will establish credibility with key stakeholders and instill a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, a prowess for internal and contracted technology solutions and delivering strong customer service to organizational stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• A key focus of this role will be to address NAPCO’s short-term needs to upgrade existing Infor XA solutions to v10 and evaluate a migration to the cloud while exploring modernization strategies for specific software components. Longer term, the role will focus on evaluating the long-term IT strategy including evaluation of long-term software solutions for the organization.• Another critical priority is to lead the transition from a long-term IT leader and seek appropriate managed service solutions from external vendors to cover short-term support risks associated with daily tasks on the iSeries until a migration of such manual activities to the cloud version of Infor XA.• Continue the advancement of Enterprise Risk Management and Controls oriented projects as you partner to deliver IT projects in support of compliance, regulatory, audit and enterprise control projects.• Work closely with fellow members of the leadership team as a trusted advisor to define and implement technology strategies that focus on forward-looking, problem solving, and innovation aligned with the organization’s operational, strategic and financial objectives.• Oversee the strategic planning, maintenance, development, and execution of existing systems, process, and team leadership managing all aspects of the IT function (e.g., development, security, data governance, infrastructure, etc.) including the use of outside partners and vendors.• Assess current platforms, the evolving needs of the business, and the competitive landscape to craft and execute a technology roadmap that meets the long-term needs of the organization and creates new opportunities.• Collaborate and work with diverse, cross-functional stakeholders to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, innovation, and digital enhancements.• Actively survey internal and external stakeholders to identify technology solutions and ideas to improve business efficiency and productivity. Partner with other leaders within the organization to understand technology needs, translate requirements into IT solutions, and ensure seamless delivery and adoption of new systems, tools, and processes.• Develop and maintain a data governance framework while you and the team modernize our current reporting capabilities to address having one version of truth for key organizational reporting metrics (i.e. a curated reporting environment) while also supporting the organizational needs to support impromptu analytics and reporting from uncurated environments. Assess reporting and analytics broadly and validate initial pilots using Microsoft PowerBI.• Oversee the logical and physical safety of systems, networks, and data to ensure the accuracy of data, availability of systems, and thwart the risk of external threats.• Identify and operationalize emerging trends in digital technologies to improve operational efficiency and create a competitive advantage for the organization.• Help determine capital investment parameters, priorities, and risks for organization-wide IT initiatives to maximize the return on investment and provide innovative solutions.• Implement the most appropriate and effective IT organizational design to support and engage with other organizational leaders.• Evaluate external support and resource needs to support the organization. Optimize our use of internal and external resources to deliver the information technology needs of the organization.• Ensure transparency, communication and collaboration between IT and all areas within the organization.• Prepare and monitor IT operational budgets while balancing business objectives including a timeline of financial objectives to bring the best business outcomes at a reasonable cost footprint.• Responsible for the strategic guidance, professional development, and performance management of direct reports and third-party partners, aligned with the goals of the organization and the department.• Foster a culture that is solutions based, innovative, collaborative, transparent, and accountable in the IT organization.• Develop and maintain a plan that provides for succession and continuity in the most critical IT management positions (internally and with trusted third-party consulting providers).• Lead the organization’s cyber security efforts to safeguard assets and interests and oversee the integrity and security of systems.• Develop and implement protocols to minimize disruption to the organization’s operations in the event of disasters or data loss, and facilitate IT security audits, training, and investigations.• Review, evolve and enforce IT policies, processes, portfolio management, development standards and methodologies, including but not limited to system development lifecycle and appropriate structures to drive project management for organizational IT initiatives.• Monitor the industry for developments in IT operations; evaluate and implement relevant new tools and service management frameworks through the engagement with external clients, vendors, etc.• Develop external IT partners that can meet our current and future needs and be able to manage these relationships for innovative solutions, as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.• An advanced degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering and/or business (MBA) is preferred.• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the technology field.• Minimum of 10 years of experience in an IT leadership or management role providing IT solutions to a business.• Experience in manufacturing or related industry with international operations is preferred.• Experience in migrating from customized to modern ERP solutions and infrastructure is preferred.• Experience in management reporting and modern business analytics is preferred.• Experience in building internal skills / capacity while leveraging sophisticated vendor management and outsource solutions as internal skills / capacity mature.• Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats.• Advanced proficiency in IT methodologies and user acceptance best practice.• Project management experience and ability to prioritize.• Demonstrated experience with as-a-service, cloud-based, and outsourced solutions through third-party vendors.• Experience designing and managing an effective IT governance framework across the spectrum of IT service delivery.• Requires travel as needed by both car and airplane including international travel to the Dominican Republic as needed for IT support and special projects.
