POSITION SUMMARY: The Security & Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure and security systems. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of network resources while protecting organizational data from potential threats. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Network Administration Design, configure, and maintain the organization's LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure. Install, configure, and manage network hardware (e.g., switches, routers, access points). Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner. Plan for network upgrades and scalability based on business needs. Security Administration Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and mitigate risks. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and apply necessary patches. Manage and enforce secure access controls and authentication systems. Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols. Incident Management Respond to network and security incidents, minimizing downtime and data loss. Investigate and resolve security breaches and malware infections. Create and update disaster recovery and incident response plans. Compliance and Documentation Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001). Maintain documentation for network and security configurations, changes, and incident reports. Collaboration Work with cross-functional teams to understand and address network and security needs. Provide technical support and guidance to staff on networking and security matters . Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience 3-5 years of experience in network and/or security administration. Proven experience with firewalls, routers, switches, cybersecurity, and network monitoring tools. Technical Skills Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). Hands-on experience with security technologies (firewalls, SIEM, VPNs). Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar). Knowledge of cloud security and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, O365). Certifications (Preferred) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP). CompTIA Security, CompTIA Network, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or CISSP . Soft Skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Tools and Technologies Networking: Cisco, Aurba, Cato, or similar. Security: Symantec SEP, Windows Patching, or Cato firewall. Monitoring: Network Analyzer, AD Audit Tools, or similar tools. Virtualization: VMware, Nutanix. Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Entra, Microsoft O365 . Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on occasion.
