Description
ACCOUNTING MANAGERFISCALFULL TIME - EXEMPTGeneral Summary:
Organizes, directs and monitors all accounting activities. Maintains accounting systems that ensure the proper accounting and recording of Thrive Behavioral Health and its affiliated corporation's resources; provide financial statements, analysis, and other key management reportsEssential Responsibilities:Oversee and supervise the bi-weekly payroll via Paycom.Provide regular supervision of Accounting Staff (Accountant-Payroll, Accountant-Payables, and Accountant).Coordinate monthly and year-end financial closings.Monitor current department accounting systems and procedures and recommend revisions.Direct the annual 1099 reporting process.Monitor and analyze cash accounts, confirm the bank activity, and assist with preparing cash flow forecasts.Administer preparation of monthly financial reporting and analysis.Direct the preparation of audit work-papers, schedules, reports and other required documentation for all financial audits and serve as the day-to-day point of contact with auditors.Assist in the preparation of Thrive's budget, report budget variances and analyze causes of variances in coordination with Director of Finance.Assist Director of Finance in designing and implementing internal controls.Assist with grant and contract billing.Create, compile, analyze, summarize and present reports to internal and external customers.Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with Thrive Policies & Procedures, Fiscal Office Standards & Procedures, contract requirements and requirements of other regulatory agencies.Monitor Rep Payee program.
Additional Responsibilities:Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.Embrace Thrive's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Mission Statement and Definitions.Present a neat appearance in proper attire and identification as required by the position, department and agency policies and procedures.Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive's Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.Function, as member of a team, i.e., be a "Team Player".
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Competencies:Bachelor's degree in accounting
or
equivalent combination of education and experience required.Public accounting, Audit, and/or Non-Profit experience helpful.Supervisory experience preferred.Demonstrates expertise with computer spread sheet software.Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
Certifications, Licenses Requirements:Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.
