The Physical Therapist II will be responsible to provide advanced skill level physical therapy service to a wide spectrum of pediatric disabilities/diseases. Must be knowledgeable in therapeutic exercise, abnormal and normal development, and modalities such as hydrotherapy and electric therapy. Work collaboratively with leadership, and program manager to provide updates for clinical and administrative operations of Rehabilitation Program and specifically with Physical Therapy Department. "This SPORTS MEDICINE PHYSICAL THERAPIST II role is to work at the new Fight for Children Sports Medicine Center, a world-class pediatric facility designed to help young athletes across the region achieve their fullest potential. This 11,000-square-foot sports medicine focused facility brings together a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, athletic trainers, sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, psychologists, nurses, kinesiologists and brain injury specialists to provide targeted sports-related rehabilitation and performance training programs. Physical therapists at the center will provide the highest level of sport specific and athlete specific care and expertise to help the student athletes regain strength, mobility, and confidence as they heal from injury with the goal of returning them to the sports/activities they love. The space is equipped with cutting edge cardiovascular, strengthening, and stability equipment that facilitate the safest and highest level of rehabilitation for the youth athlete. Physical therapist will have the opportunity to assist with the creation and development of programs focused on the adolescent athlete to include sports specific injury rehabilitation, injury prevention and performance training programs. The position will have a specialized focus on the adolescent athlete with one-on-one patient care and the ability to work in close proximity to state-of-the-art motion capture technology that will aid in evaluating and assessing precise movements to teach young athletes how to avoid injuries and improve their performance in their particular sport." Minimum Work Experience 4 years At least 4-5 Years of Pediatric experience and successful submission of Professional Ladder application. .
Required Licenses and Certifications Physical Therapist Must have DC licensure or licensure in treating jurisdiction. .
Functional Accountabilities Clinical Skills and Expertise Evaluate and treat patients using appropriate frames of reference pursuant to practice acts.
Select reliable and valid assessment tools relevant to diagnosis, functional limitation and patient history.
Synthesize findings of evaluation to formulate valid and appropriate treatment plan and functional goal outcome.
Has evidence of advanced knowledge in a minimum of 3 core competency areas.
Recognize advanced competency in 1-2 clinical areas.
Present one case study and one evidence based practice inservice to department staff.
Documentation Comply with departmental policies and procedures for inpatient and outpatient documentation.
Ensure documentation of aides and students are reviewed and co-signed.
Leadership Act as an ongoing mentor to Level I staff, students and other health care professionals.
Assume primary or back up clinical instructor role for students.
Assist team to prioritize and plan daily treatment schedules and manage patient load.
Participate and enhance role of physical therapy in multidisciplinary clinics, programs and research.
Administrative Complete all administrative assignments to include billing, Beartime and requested operations input on time.
Participate in data collection on research projects and PI initiatives.
Identify need for change in current policies and procedures to reflect update in care and best practice.
