Job Overview
The Cisco Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of complex data network solutions. This role requires in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and expertise in Cisco products. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining a reliable and efficient network infrastructure while collaborating across IT teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Implementation:
Plan, design, test, and implement enterprise network solutions.Configuration:
Configure Cisco IOS, test, and integrate new network hardware devices (routers and switches) into existing infrastructure.Documentation:
Maintain accurate diagrams and configurations for all network devices.Engineering Packages:
Prepare detailed engineering job packages, including parts/equipment lists and supporting documentation (e.g., drawings, diagrams, configurations).Cost Efficiency:
Ensure cost-effective design of systems to meet business needs and provide reliable services.Cost Estimates:
Prepare and submit cost estimates for planned installations as required.Technology Awareness:
Stay current with networking technologies and available facilities.Circuit Management:
Procure, activate, and troubleshoot private and public WAN circuits.Collaboration:
Work across IT teams to provide comprehensive network solutions.Minimum Qualifications
Experience:5-7 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years focused on designing and supporting Cisco Systems products.Strong understanding of communication technology fundamentals.
Skills & Attributes:Proficiency in TCP/IP, routing, switching, and Cisco products.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.Team player with strong interpersonal and relational skills.Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
Collaboration:Experience coordinating with multiple groups, companies, and individuals simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Cisco technologies (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).Experience in network security and advanced troubleshooting
