About the Position:
As the SBA Associate Lender you will work alongside an assigned Business Development Officer (BDO) to generate Small Business Administration (SBA) loan financing for business customers. You will assist the BDO in building and developing profitable specialty finance lending relationships with new and existing customers. In order to best serve the customer, you will work alongside the BDO to consult with customers to best understand their business practices and to identify their financing goals/needs.
What You Will Do: Work alongside assigned BDO to process Government Guaranteed Loans (GGL) and other applicable banking products/services to small and medium-sized businesses Manage transaction through closing and act as a second point of contact alongside the assigned BDO Prepare, document and submit BDO Screenings Summaries to credit and underwriting team Obtain appropriate information for initial credit underwriting Assist Underwriters and Closers to collect missing information as needed Assist BDO as directed in sourcing deals through a network of referral sources, brokers, etc. Collaborate with BDO and credit analysts to structure financing proposal for the applicant Maintain knowledge of economic trends for industries, business and franchises for target marketing Maintain up to date knowledge of GGL requirements Represent the bank professionally Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For:
A minimum of three years of direct experience in SBA Lending; or five years of experience in commercial, consumer or mortgage lending Understanding and previous experience with the SBA Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) highly preferred Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and persuade as needed Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong time management and organization skills Working Conditions/Demands:
Must be willing to travel up to 25% as needed for business development and training purposes Professional office setting. Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer. Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Who Are We?
