About the role: As part of the Arden Hills Process Development team, this position's primary responsibilities include leading a team of process engineers within the Electrical Process Development group in advancing new products, processes, and technologies across multiple divisions with an emphasis on products manufactured in Arden Hills.Furthermore, this role will be responsible for developing the strategy and successful implementation of a sustaining structure of electrical test systems across the Boston Scientific global network. You will oversee the development and management of the staff resources and processes required to ensure functional excellence and delivery of robust, scalable, high-quality manufacturing processes to divisional and operations customers. You will provide strategic input into departmental, divisional, and BSC plant network initiatives. You will be tasked with building, developing, and empowering a strong team capable of fulfilling multi-project and multi-customer needs for the business. This role will focus on building effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive successful execution of key programs. About Electrical Process Development (EPD): EPD is focused on the development of electrical test systems across a wide variety of products from IC wafer to Finished Good Capital Equipment across every division within Boston Scientific. The team contains subject matter experts in Electrical Engineering, Computer Software, System Interfacing and Test Development who work with internal and external vendors to deliver results. Your responsibilities will include: Lead teams in the achievement of organizational and functional goals.Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization. Coach and lead engineering teams to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing test processes. Establish goals for scope of test system, cycle time, capacity, and other key metrics. Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs. Ensure knowledge driven approach to process & product development, and that functional excellence is exhibited in all product and technology development projects. Drive technical projects of significant magnitude and scope. Work is expected to result in the delivery of new or refined technologies, products, processes, software, equipment, that enable growth in BSC's portfolio in key strategic areas. Develop detailed work plans, budgets, objectives, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Monitor & troubleshoot performance and schedule issues, support & enable team to achieve objectives. Make decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules to achieve department objectives. Recruit, coach, develop organizational talent. Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure all employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline w/ 7+ years related work experience or Master's degree in an engineering discipline w/ 5+ years of related experience 5+ years' experience in leading and developing a technical engineering group. Preferred qualifications: Experience in electrical engineering or software development Team oriented approach to projects thatdrives collaboration & execution across the business. Experience in developing and transferring manufacturing processes and/or sustaining production equipment/lines. Track record of developing strong partnerships with multiple customers simultaneously Demonstrated competency in leading teams in the development of complex technical solutions from concept to commercialization. Working knowledge of BSC therapies, products, and processes Experience working in manufacturing, identifying opportunities, and delivering on commitments. Vision to see what technologies are going to be needed in the future and ability to get them started with little oversight or guidance. Experience with developing medium- and long-term strategic objectives for a service organization and guiding the team in tactical execution. Effective in building and leading high-performance teams.
