The Jim and Eleanor Randall Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai has opened the search for a Division Director of Surgical Oncology

.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Division Director to lead our expanding Surgical Oncology Division. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent background in surgical oncology, demonstrate effective leadership skills, a strong academic record, and a commitment to excellence in patient care. The Division Director will be responsible for shaping the future of our surgical oncology services, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving strategic growth initiatives within the institution.

The Division currently consists of fourteen faculty who have expertise in all areas of surgical oncology. Faculty provide expert clinical care, train general surgery residents, as well as fellows in a Society of Surgical Oncology-approved breast surgical oncology fellowship and an ACGME-approved complex general surgical oncology fellowship.

At Cedars-Sinai Cancer, we offer state-of-the-art treatments, experimental therapies, next-generation research, and cutting-edge clinical trials for over sixty types of cancer at more than ten locations throughout Greater Los Angeles. There are over 200 clinical trials available to patients at any given time.

Cedars-Sinai treats cancer patients with a multi-disciplinary approach. Our rapidly expanding, vertically integrated health system is a central destination for the integration of revolutionary advances into daily clinical practice. The Cedars healthcare system saw over 7,600 new cancer cases, creating customized, coordinated care plans that fit each patient’s unique needs. The Cedars-Sinai Cancer faculty published over 250 publications, 23% in high impact journals, and has over $35 million in grant funding.

Our compensation philosophy

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.

Pay Range: $552,000 - $850,000 total cash compensation.

Qualifications

Medical Degree from an accredited medical school

Ability to obtain and maintain CSMC Medical Staff Membership

Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted California license as Physician and Surgeon.

A published author of peer reviewed articles, with ability to serve as principal or co-investigator.

Eligible for recommendation to the appropriate academic rank to the Medical Center’s professoriate series.

A track record of excellence in teaching, patient care, leadership, and administration
