Position Summary

TheUniversity of New Mexico, Office of the University Controller, also known asFinancial Services, located on Main Campus is responsible for all centralaccounting functions for the University.

Itis the responsibility of the Controller's Office aka Financial Services toensure compliance with all financial policies, rules, and regulations adoptedby the University or imposed by external agencies, including state and federalaudit requirements, following generally accepted accounting practices.Additionally, the Controller's Office oversees the maintenance of the officialfinancial records of the University.

WithinFinancial Services, the Contract & Grant Accounting (CGA) department has anexciting opportunity for an

Sr Fiscal Tech .

CGA'smission is to provide professional expertise and quality customer service tothe UNM community on externally sponsored funding. Our department interpretsand implements UNM policies related to contracts and grants as well as reviewsand interprets policies of outside private and governmental funding agencies.We also oversee the invoicing and revenue collection process for the funding.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of this positions include but are not limited to: Run reports and analyze account codes to determine compliance Communicate with departments and sub-recipients regarding award closeout items Complete closeout reconciliation forms and submit via Workflow Calculate losses and gains, then enter via journal voucher (JV) Verify Banner screens for closeout accuracy Prepare closeout packets for audit and retention purposes Ifyou're ready to step into a role where your contributions will supportgroundbreaking research and projects at UNM, we invite you to apply.

Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determinedafter consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferences should be supported in the resume.

Experience with Banner and MyReports Experience with research administration Experience performing multiple duties and be able to prioritize work assignments Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
