Part-Time Bus Driver

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting individuals safely and efficiently from location to location on a daily basis. This role requires operating and maintaining vehicles in compliance with Federal, State, and agency guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Transport individuals within city limits and between towns. Adhere to all traffic regulations, KDOT regulations, and SEK-CAP vehicle usage policies. Perform daily vehicle cleaning and maintenance checks using the required inspection checklist. Report any vehicle malfunctions to the Transportation Manager immediately. Conduct monthly checks on fire extinguishers and document their status. Ensure all necessary emergency equipment is on the bus at all times. Verify passenger seat belt use before moving the vehicle. Maintain a daily mileage record. Complete paperwork accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner. Respect and support cultural differences and diverse family structures. Demonstrate good work habits, including punctuality and adherence to break times. Attend mandatory training and staff meetings. Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate authority. Advocate for SEK-CAP, Inc. in the community. Complete required documentation and reports. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of SEK-CAP, Inc. customers. Uphold and promote the Code of Ethics, Core Values, and Mission Statement of SEK-CAP, Inc. Support management decisions in both actions and words. Perform other duties as assigned. Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse personalities. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with the general public, both orally and in writing. Resourceful and well-organized self-starter, requiring minimal supervision. Excellent moral character. Previous commercial/passenger driving experience. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days. Successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Pass a standard criminal history check. Participate in and pass random drug screen testing as required by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Pass Department of Transportation physical and renew as needed. Possess a current, valid Class C driver's license and meet agency insurance underwriting guidelines. Valid Commercial Class B with passenger endorsement preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat. Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
