Fueled by growth and recent acquisitions, this industry-leading company is seeking a
Human Resources Generalist
to support, onboard and integrate employees from newly acquired businesses. The Human Resources Generalist will be part of the HR team and will report directly to the VP of HR. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the following duties:
Support the company culture by onboarding newly acquired companiesBuild rapport and establish relationships with owners and site managersFoster an environment that supports the needs of the employeesAnswer staff questions related to benefits and assist with benefit resolutionComplete compliance audits on newly acquired businesses, make recommendations and establish a plan for consistencyContinue to learn about HR law and compliance in order to service all assigned locations and ensure that HR compliance is being met within multiple states and CanadaCommunicate at executive, manager and staff levels to resolve HR inquiries and concernsCoach and mentor staff on HR-related concernsOversee recruitment plans for multiple sitesEstablish and improve HR practices based on data analysisWith assistance from each site, manage the day-to-day HR operationsOversite of FMLA and disability initiatives for assigned locationsUtilize the company HRIS for all documentation and reportingAssist with payroll implementationLead and conduct employee relations, including any needed investigations and resolving employee conflictComplete daily HR functions as needed to support the teamManage multiple HR projects at a timeComplete additional tasks as assigned
This is a dynamic manufacturing environment, a culture like no other. Candidates should feel comfortable challenging the norm on a daily basis, finding better ways, improving HR functions and working in a department that enjoys learning and being collaborative. This is a salary, day shift position that will occasionally require candidates to participate in and support off-shift activities. There is not any remote work available for this position. This is a salaried position with 401K, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, medical, dental, vision, vacation and paid holidays.
Travel Requirement:
Initially there will be a requirements of 50% travel, this will balance out at 25-30% travel across the country and Canada. You will go where the next acquisition is!
Requirements for the Human Resources Generalist: 1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in a human resources-related discipline2. 3-5 years of HR generalist experience3. Proven experience in HR within manufacturing, distribution and/or warehousing environments4. Broad HR expertise, including recruitment, compliance, employment law, employee relations, benefits administration, etc.5. Willingness to travel up to 50% initially, with long-term travel averaging 25-30%6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word and Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. PHR or SPHR certification 2. HRIS system experience
3. Implementation of payroll software
Candidates are preferred to be local to the Piqua, Ohio area. There is not a relocation package available at this time.
