The Admission Coordinator clinically screens and engages with potential patients/families with warmth, hospitality and professionalism as they seek to access care at Silver Hill Hospital. This position will interface with internal and external stakeholders to create a seamless, high-quality patient experience. This position will report to the Director of Admissions Operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct clinical screens for potential patients seeking care at SHH; complete screens efficiently and in accordance with census targets as defined by SHH leadership. Obtain accurate information from patients requiring evaluation at the Silver Hill Hospital - including but not limited to demographic information, insurance information for verification, clinical background, needed accommodations/dietary needs, and any other information identified as pertinent by leadership and clinical staff to ensure patient care and safety Ensure that exceptional customer service is provided through telephone and face-to-face communications. Adhering to and communicating the established admissions policy procedure and review process for each level of care, as set forth by leadership Coordinate with senior leadership (e.g. Team Lead) to coordinate admissions in accordance with census targets and availability Ensure all required documentation is entered in the needed systems (e.g. Silver Hill Hospital's EMR, Salesforce, etc.) as defined by leadership and adhering to compliance regulations Coordinates the involuntary admission of patients evaluated in the Admissions Department when necessary. Assists as required in performing client assessments in the Admissions Department for emergencies and unscheduled patients. Facilitates the transfer of patients to Silver Hill Hospital from other facilities. Supports outstanding customer service and the performance improvement goals of the department. Preform/complete other projects and/or duties as needed to further the mission of the department and meet department needs As needed, will be required to fill in/cover AR responsibilities as needed to meet department needs Answers live calls in a timely and professional manner, responding immediately to service and referral inquiries. Processes and enters information faxed from other facilities into appropriate computer systems (e.g. Salesforce) Provide exceptional customer service by listening and responding to patient requests and building rapport with patients, their family members, and clinical professionals. Effectively communicate SHH programming, cost, and appropriate needed information to potential patients/families/referral sources Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities:

Must have the ability to function optimally in a stressful environment, and the ability to remain calm in emotionally charged situations. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office applications) Demonstrates competency in assessing adolescents (ages 13-18) and adults (18+). Demonstrates competency in suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention Education and Experience:

Minimum bachelor's degree in mental health or a related field At least two years of experience in a behavioral health care setting and admissions position, with significant administrative and organizational experience and training.
